Sara Pintwala, PhD
Sara is a postdoctoral fellow in the Fuller lab. Her research primarily focuses on understanding how inhibitory neurons in the lateral hypothalamus regulate sleep/wake behaviors. Additionally, Sara has a strong interest in exploring the spatial aspect of gene expression, often referred to as 'spatial-omics,' and how gene expression provides insights into behavior.
Furthermore, Sara has a long-standing interest in space biology, and since joining the Fuller lab, she has taken on a leading role in a NASA spaceflight program. She has also initiated her own ground-based hypergravity project in our lab's centrifugation facility.
In her leisure time, she enjoys biking, cooking, and watching the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
